I’m Adam, founder of Kordra, an independent software company building dedicated tools for musicians and songwriters. My focus is Kordra Studio: a native Mac writing room that keeps lyrics, chords, recordings and revisions together, with your work stored locally. I care about the small details that help an idea become a song.
The journey
· LaunchedKordra started with a practical question: how can software help someone shape a song before they generate it? That became Kordra Music, a workspace for AI-assisted planning and pre-production. As Kordra developed, I kept coming back to the work around a song: catching an idea, finding the right words, hearing another take and knowing which version to return to. Those moments needed their own tools. Kordra Studio grew into a native Mac writing room for human-led songwriting, bringing lyrics, chords, takes and versions into one place. Local files, offline writing and portable exports are deliberate choices: the writer should stay in control of their work. I’m building Kordra independently, with a close interest in how people actually write, revise and share songs. That is what I want each product decision to serve.
Advice to founders
Stay close to the task someone is trying to finish. Watch where they lose momentum, then make that part easier. A feature list can keep growing forever; a useful product helps someone get back to the work they care about.
Dreams & what's next
I want Kordra to become a trusted part of a songwriter’s working life: somewhere ideas are easy to find, songs have room to develop, and work is ready to share when the writer is. For Studio, that means continuing to refine the everyday flow of writing, listening and revising, guided by the people using it. My ambition is to build an independent software company known for useful tools, careful design and respect for creative ownership.
