I didn’t start with the ambition of becoming a founder. Before ELECTE, I was already running a company. That experience taught me that businesses rarely suffer from a lack of data. They suffer from fragmented information, unclear priorities, and decisions that still depend too heavily on intuition or whoever happens to have the spreadsheet open. That stayed with me. I started ELECTE around a simple idea: smaller companies should have access to the kind of analytical capability that large organisations can build internally. Not AI for the sake of AI, but software that helps people understand what is happening in their business and make better decisions because of it. The product has changed a lot since the first version. So has my understanding of what we are building. Over time, ELECTE has grown beyond a single piece of software. We are building an AI-powered decision-making platform alongside our own research, newsletter, podcasts, radio, and publishing. I’ve become increasingly interested in the layer between technology and judgment: what happens when intelligence becomes abundant, but good decisions remain scarce. Building a company has also changed the way I think about entrepreneurship. Vision matters, but execution compounds. Distribution matters. Systems matter. Knowing what not to build matters. And the longer I do this, the less interested I am in startup theatre and the more interested I am in building something durable. I’m still very much in the middle of that process.

Dreams & what's next

I want to build ELECTE into a company that helps millions of smaller businesses make better decisions—not by replacing human judgment, but by making better information and intelligence available when decisions are actually being made. I also want to keep expanding what a technology company can be. Software is one part of it. Research, publishing, and media are another. The long-term ambition is to build an institution around better business decision-making: one that creates technology, develops ideas, and earns enough trust that people actively choose to spend time with both. Personally, I want to keep becoming a better operator as the company becomes more ambitious. The goal isn’t simply to build a bigger startup. It’s to build something that lasts.
