Fella — iPhone App Blocker

Fella is an iPhone app blocker designed to help people reduce screen time, stop compulsive scrolling, and make distracting apps harder to open automatically.

Instead of trying to turn your entire phone into a productivity system, Fella focuses on one simple problem: the apps you keep opening even when you did not consciously decide to use them. That could be Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X, Snapchat, games, shopping apps, entertainment apps, or any other app that repeatedly pulls your attention away.

With Fella, you choose which apps are distracting and keep those apps blocked by default while leaving the apps you actually need available. Your essential tools, communication apps, maps, banking apps, work tools, and other useful parts of your iPhone can remain untouched.

Fella is built specifically for iPhone and uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to restrict access to the apps you select. It does not delete your apps, remove your accounts, erase messages, or require you to permanently give up services you may occasionally need. The goal is controlled access rather than complete removal.

A core part of Fella is its emergency unlock system. During a blocking session, you receive one short 5-minute emergency unlock for situations where you genuinely need access to something you blocked. Once those five minutes end, the selected apps automatically become blocked again. This creates a clear boundary without turning an occasional legitimate need into unlimited access for the rest of the day.

That approach is useful for people who have already tried ordinary screen-time limits but repeatedly ignore or extend them. Apple’s built-in Screen Time is useful for measuring usage, setting daily limits, and scheduling downtime, but those controls can still be easy to override. Fella is designed for users who want a more deliberate barrier between the impulse to open an app and actually entering it.

Fella can be used as a social media blocker, distraction blocker, focus tool, or simply as a way to spend less time on an iPhone. It can help during work, studying, deep-focus sessions, evenings, mornings, or any other period where automatically checking apps tends to break concentration.

The product is intentionally focused rather than overloaded with complicated productivity features. You select the distracting apps, start blocking them, and Fella handles the restriction. This makes it useful for people who know which apps are consuming their attention and want a practical way to change the default behavior of their phone.

Fella is also designed around privacy. Its core blocking functionality works through Apple’s on-device Screen Time technology, and Fella states that it does not sell user data or rely on advertising as part of the experience.

For someone trying to reduce screen time, quit doomscrolling, stop automatically checking social media, improve focus, or keep distracting apps installed without having unlimited access to them, Fella provides a straightforward alternative: keep the useful parts of your iPhone available while putting a stronger boundary around the apps that repeatedly steal your attention.

Fella is available for iPhone through the Apple App Store and can be discovered at usefella.com.
