Folio Refresh is a Mac app that finds duplicate photos across your folders, external drives, Apple Photos library, Lightroom Classic and Capture One catalogs, and clears them safely. Photos end up on a Mac more than once without anyone meaning it: imported twice, saved from a message, copied back from an old Mac, or shot as a burst of twenty. Most duplicate finders only look in folders, and deleting files behind a photo catalog breaks it. Folio Refresh looks where photos actually live and cleans each place the way its own app expects. It finds exact copies, including renamed files, similar shots at three levels (Conservative, Balanced and Broad) and bursts. For each group it suggests which copy to keep and says why, and it steers away from the frame where someone blinked. Nothing moves until you have looked and approved it. Duplicates in Photos go into a review album, Lightroom Classic duplicates are marked Rejected and Capture One duplicates are tagged Red, with the catalog backed up first, and every clean-up can be undone. It can also shrink what you keep, converting large videos to HEVC and JPEG or TIFF files to HEIC. Scanning, reviewing and cleaning your first 100 photos are free. After that it is a one-time $14.99, with no subscription. There is no account, no tracking and no adverts, and your photos are read on the Mac and never leave it. It runs on macOS 15 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel, and is made in Ireland by Caddora.
