Orkas is an open-source, local-first desktop AI workforce designed for people who need to turn a goal into finished work without managing every step manually. A lead agent called the Commander converts the goal into an executable plan, then coordinates specialist agents in parallel or sequence through one chat.

The workflow can cover research, coding, data analysis, documents, presentations, video, and other complex tasks. Instead of acting as a single-purpose chatbot, Orkas organizes the work, delegates suitable parts, and brings results back into the same desktop workspace.
