Measure the Build is a free US takeoff hub for contractors and DIY homeowners who search “how much do I need” and want a number they can check.
Most online material calculators hide the math. You get a bag count or a post depth with no working and no source. When the pour runs short or the hole is too shallow, you find out at the yard—or halfway through the job. Measure the Build flips that. Type your measurements, get the quantity, and see every intermediate step the same way you’d audit an estimate.
Constants live in a sourced data layer: Quikrete bag yields, NIST dressed lumber widths, CLFMI chain-link footing baselines, manufacturer tile and drywall coverage. When a figure is only a trade convention—waste percent, post embedment range—the page says so instead of dressing it up as a published yield. Conflicts between sources get called out, not silently averaged.
Tools live today across concrete (bag and Sonotube), fencing (full materials takeoff, post depth with Quikrete/CLFMI/local governing max, picket spacing), tile and grout, shower tile takeoff, drywall sheets, and deck boards. The fence post depth calculator compares shallow and conservative Quikrete endpoints, chain-link baselines, and any frost or product depth you enter, then shows excavation separate from concrete—plus a depth chart and labeled cross-section so height, embedment, and gravel stay clear.
No signup. Nothing to install.Units are imperial. Spelling is American. Terminology is US trade vernacular: drywall, not plasterboard; lumber, not timber.
Open any calculator, run your numbers, and check the math before you order.
