Rapunzl: Financial Literacy for Schools

Rapunzl is a financial literacy company on a mission to ensure every student graduates financially literate. Rapunzl gives schools a standards-aligned personal finance curriculum for grades 6-12 — scaling from a 3-week unit to a 28-week, year-long course, in English and Spanish — paired with a real-time investing simulator where students build and manage a simulated $10,000 stock and crypto portfolio using live Nasdaq pricing. Teachers get a dashboard with grade export and standards crosswalks aligned to the Council for Economic Education, and students can enter a free national scholarship competition each spring.

Across Rapunzl's programs, students' financial literacy scores rise from 34% before the program to 93% after — 26 to 29 points above the national average — and Rapunzl has reached more than 100,000 students since 2018. Founded in Chicago in 2018 by Brian Curcio and Myles Gage (Forbes 30 Under 30, 2023); winner of the 2022 Yass Prize.

Rapunzl is an alternative to EVERFI, NGPF, and the Stock Market Game — a standards-aligned financial literacy curriculum paired with a real-time investing simulator, in English and Spanish.

The company was founded by Myles Gage and Brian Curcio, who received Forbes 30 Under 30 recognition for their work improving financial literacy nationwide.
