Todowing

Todowing is an unofficial Chrome extension for Todoist. It fixes one specific problem: Todoist flattens sub-tasks in the Today, Upcoming, Filter, and Label views, so a sub-task shows up without its parent and without the rest of its tree. Todowing nests sub-tasks back under their parents inline in those views and on every board.

It is built for Todoist users who break work into sub-tasks and lose track of them in date-based views. It works on any Todoist plan, with no Pro subscription needed, in the Todoist web app on Chrome. It does not run in the Todoist desktop app. If you want an app-style window, install Todoist as a Chrome app window and the extension works there.

The free version includes inline sub-task trees with completing, collapsing, and recurring resets, and each row shows its due date, priority, and labels. You get up to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task, seven color palettes, and a text-size slider from 85% to 200%. No account is required.

The paid unlock adds unlimited sub-task rows, plus adding, renaming, and reordering sub-tasks from the row. A hide-done toggle keeps finished parents visible while they still have open work. "One task, two places" lets you file a task under a parent in another project. A focus timer counts down beside your list for the tasks you select, with time estimates and totals shown in Todoist's header, and one session runs across all open tabs. A three-line notes pad above Today supports light markdown and saves locally. A font picker offers about 50 Google Fonts. Apple Calendar events appear on Today through a published calendar link, for up to five calendars, read-only. All future upgrades to the extension are included.

Pricing: the core extension is free. The Lifetime unlock is a one-time payment of $19.99 with no subscription. The site lists $19.99 as the early price, with $29.99 after the first 50 claims. Refunds are available within 14 days, no questions asked. Checkout runs through Stripe, and Todowing is the seller.

Privacy: your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes to the official Todoist API only. Your tasks never pass through Todowing's servers. The extension has no analytics or tracking.

Setup note: settings live in the toolbar popup, so configure them once in a normal Chrome tab before you switch to an app window.
